Many feeders on the market appear to be squirrel-proof, but only a few are really effective. Those that are best include: Heritage Farms Absolute, Absolute II and Birds First Choice feeders; Homestead s Super Stop-a-Squirrel; Droll Yankees Big Top, Arundale s Mandarin and Sky Caf; Noel s 301 Squirreless feeder, Duncraft s Squirrel-proof Selective and Varicraft s AV-3M and AV-1M feeders. SDI (Squirrel Defense Initiative) manufactures a solar powered electrified feeder and Droll Yankees has just introduced the Yankee Flipper, a battery-powered feeder that provides the squirrels with negative reinforcement. While none of these feeders is probably 100% effective, they are the best on the market and have made feeding the birds much less frustrating.
