Are there really grass fleas?
Fleas are not classified by where they live but by what animals they feed on. That is what separates fleas. So if there are cats fleas around and the eggs roll off to the ground and land in sand, you could say they were sand fleas. If they fell on grassy areas, yu could say they were grass fleas but it doesn’t change their preferred food source. Did you know that most fleas on dogs are actually classified as cat fleas and not dog fleas? And if there isn’t a cat or dog around they will bite humans. But they don’t prefer to live in grass. There really aren’t grass fleas or sand fleas though that is what many people call them. The Snow scorpionfly is also called the snow flea, however, but it isn’t a flea.
