Are there problems with some sound cards and GPL?

Some people report various problems with some of the newer sound cards. I have no experience with these problems and can offer no help other than suggesting that if you have difficulties, try the latest drivers for the sound card, and reduce the number of sounds in GPL’s Options. I am using SoundBlaster 16’s in my other machines. They aren’t fancy, but they are cheap and reliable, and they work ok.
