Are there populations of Black-necked Stilts in Maine?

0

There are 5 different races of black-necked Stilts. None of them go in to Maine, but some do migrate up the New England coast, and there have been sightings as far north as Canada. The species that we have at Ocean Journey, Himantopus mexicanus, winters only in extreme Southern U.S., while spring “offshoots” have been found in Ontario, and British Columbia.
