Are there plans to update the book for the 9.04 or 9.10 releases?
Ubuntu Pocket Guide and Reference was written using Ubuntu 8.10 as a base, and the 9.04 release is practically identical in most ways. The changes are mainly under the hood. It would be pointless releasing a new edition of the book to cover the small amount of updates the user will come into contact with (we estimated that we would have to change maybe a couple of paragraphs in each chapter). At the time of writing we do not have firm details of the 9.10 release, so cannot comment further. However, we genuinely expect Ubuntu Pocket Guide and Reference to be valid and useful for many years to come.
