Are there plans to build hotels and commercial sectors along the Sea?
A. There are no specific plans at this time, but SSA’s plan allows the Sea’s shoreline to become available for economic opportunities, and will create an environment conducive to tourism, recreation, and resort possibilities. Additionally, the geothermal energy available beneath the Sea will be more easily harnessed for green energy production, creating enough power to light a million homes in Southern California without the use of fossil fuels or foreign oil. Future development proposals must respect and be compatible with protecting wildlife habitat.
