Are there penalties for persons who make false reports or mislead the Commission?
Yes. Sub section (1) of section 6 of the Act provides that any person who wilfully a. makes or causes to be made to the Commission a false complaint or report that an offence has been committed under this Act; or b. misleads the Commission by giving false information or making any false statement or accusation; commits an offence and shall be liable on conviction, to a fine not exceeding one million Leones or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding one year or to both such fine and imprisonment.
