Are there penalties for missing a previously arranged rideshare without sufficient notice?
It depends. If the Driver is less than 5 minutes late, the Driver is encouraged to notify the Riders, out of courtesy, and let them know he is running a few minutes late. But being late for a rideshare may negatively impact the Driver’s rating as a rideshare partner. If the Driver is more than 5 minutes late, AND: * Riders have been notified and will wait, THEN the rideshare proceeds without penalty. Again, however lateness may negatively impact the Driver’s rating as a rideshare partner. * Riders have been notified and one or more Riders cannot wait, THEN the Driver shall: o proceed with the rideshare for any Riders willing to wait; o contact the RideJockey to help arrange rides for the riders that cannot wait; and o pay a penalty equal to the cost of gas per Rider per trip segment.
