An unattended study may not be appropriate for someone who would have great difficulty understanding written instructions (for example, patients with severe dementia) or who would be physically unable to use the Unicorder (for example, patients with severe arthritis). Patients who are blind, deaf, or who require supplemental oxygen should not have an ARES study.
