There are some adult parts of the Bible that we don’t explain to kids just like we don’t explain things from the rest of life. Just like everything else in life, you give kids what they are ready for when they are ready for it.

Yeah, the Old Testament. If you’re going to read the Bible to a child, make sure you blur out the fact that Jesus accepted slavery. Pretty soon, the child will want to own slaves.
