Yes. NorGer’s cable connection will be the first between Norway and Germany but there is an almost equally long cable connection between Norway and the Netherlands (NorNed) that became operational autumn 2008. In addition, there are subsea cable connections between Norway and Denmark, between Germany and Sweden and between Germany and Denmark, among many others.
