Are there other music stores besides itunes?

iTunes is capable of working with pretty much every music player on the planet. All you have to do is set it up to convert your downloaded AAC-format songs to the universal MP3 format. To do this, pull down the Edit menu, select Preferences, click the Advanced tab, then the Importing tab, and then change the “Import Using” field to “MP3 format” (at this point, any music that you rip from CD will go straight to the MP3 format). Once that’s done, go to your Music Library and highlight any songs that you want to convert, pull down the Advanced menu, and select “Convert selection to MP3”. It’ll spit out a bunch of legal MP3 copies of your non-MP3 songs, including the DRM-protected AAC format that you can purchase from iTunes. Anyways, there are plenty of other sources for purchasing songs, particularly in the MP3 format (that’s the only format that has a larger potential market base than the iPod-only AAC format), but none that are really comparable to iTunes.
