Yes, for example, in the United States we find the Steel Framing Alliance (www.steelframingalliance.com), an association of engineers, architects, building officials, suppliers, etc whose mission is to “enable and encourage the widespread, practical and economic use of and preference for cold-formed steel framing in residential construction, and to expand the use of steel framing as a load bearing element in commercial construction”. Also in the United States, there is the Cold-Formed Steel Engineers Institute (www.cfsei.org), which is an association of engineers and design professionals who are finding a better way to produce safe and efficient designs for commercial and residential structures with cold-formed steel and is closely related to the Steel Framing Alliance.
