ARE THERE OPPORTUNITIES FOR PARTICIPANTS IN THE JAG CORPS STUDENT PROGRAM TO HAVE SUMMER EMPLOYMENT?

0

Yes. Law students who have accepted a commission via the Student Program may request to attend OIS between their second and third year of law school. OIS graduates will also receive preference for a summer legal training experience later that same summer with an active duty JAG Corps office. If funding and scheduling permit, you would perform normal law clerk duties while temporarily activated for the period of the legal training only, receiving pay at the ensign level. Availability and duration of summer assignments is subject to annual funding determinations. Interested officers must use the procedure discussed in paragraph #39 below to request a summer legal training opportunity.
