Are there opportunities for combining PhD study and work within the department?
As with any workplace, occasional employment opportunities may arise from time to time. These would be advertised on an individual basis, but are not normally tied to a particular MPhil/PhD student unless such a position was specifically advertised as such. (In some cases, research studentships are linked to particular research projects.) Prospective applicants are advised not to rely on the possibility of employment opportunities arising within the department when considering the financial feasibility of embarking on a PhD.
