As the buyer, you are responsible for transferring ownership of your new domain name. This is done by ensuring that your contact information is correctly listed in the Whois database. Also, in addition to the one-time price you pay to acquire your new domain name, you will be responsible for paying its annual registration fee. While Registrars are, by law required to attempt to contact you prior to a registration lapse, it is your responsibility to ensure the registration fee is paid on time.
