Are there many Scottish people (who still have there accents) living in Alberta?

Although the Scots have a history in Alberta dating back to 1873 when the Northwest Mounted Police were first formed, I would not say there are many people in Alberta that consider themselves “Scottish-Canadian”. Over 500,000 people in Alberta have some Scottish heritage in them, out of over 3.5 million Albertans. But the only ones who still have their Scottish accents would be the first generation immigrants. Most people after living in the area for several years will develop the “Canadian Prairies” accent, which is not really noticeable to anyone living there, but has its subtleties to someone from Eastern Canada or parts of USA.
