Are there many fake speed cameras???

Someone once told me that only 1 in 7 of the cameras have film in them, and that you have to go more than 10% above the speed limit to trigger the camera e.g. in a 30 mph zone, you would need to go 33 mph or more to trigger the camera. I can’t guarantee the accuracy of this information though…

Very few fake ones but there are some where the camera inside is rotated around a number of boxes so you never know which ones are working. They still tend to flash even where the camera has been removed. Paperwork, Usually within 2 weeks you get a notice of intended prosecution where you, as the car owner must say who was driving or they just prosecute you instead. They can take up to 6 months to do this but in practice most times it is within 2 weeks.
