Are there larger North American cities with an authentic historical core?

Of the larger eastern cities…Boston, Quebec, Montreal, Philadelphia, lower Manhattan have historical areas. Maybe the ‘cores’ have moved though, so in Montreal for example the commercial centre is near the historical area, but distinct from it.
