Are there kits available to convert automobiles to Hydrogen?
No, contrary to multiple web sites AFS nor IMPCO has conversion kits or equipment for hydrogen. Websites advertising “Run your car on water” are offering products that generate a small amount of hydrogen by electrolysis. This small amount of hydrogen is added to the gasoline / air mixture. Does this increase mileage? Possibly. Can you run an engine entirely on hydrogen generated this way? No, the systems offered do not generate enough hydrogen to completely fuel an engine. It would also be necessary to change major internal engine components, and the exhaust system to stainless steel to prevent water damage. There is also an extreme loss of power when running on hydrogen that needs to be addressed.
