Are there heresies in the church today,how and what kind of?
Yes, there are heresies in the Church. A heresy is any teaching which cuts its believers off from the historic continuity of Christian teaching. There is also a category of heretical teachings which cut believers off from from their salvation. These are called apostasy. Most conservative churches believe that heresy exists to one degree or another in any church body besides their own. Heresy may also exist within an orthodox church body, but such a church body by definition does not officially teach any heresy, and heresy would only exist in such a body “illegally.” A minority segment of Fundamentalism considers Roman Catholicism and Eastern Orthodoxy to be apostate. Apart from that, there is broad consensus among trinitarian churches about what it means to be apostate, and which bodies fall under that umbrella. Major bodies generally considered apostate by trinitarian Christians include: LDS, Community of Christ (RLDS), Jehovah’s Witnesses, United Pentecostals (UPC) and other Oneness
