Are there guidelines to follow in choosing a themesong?
In order to simplify matters I just picked whatever song was playing on the radio on my very first encounter with the special person. This method has been proven to be decisive and painless, as well as effective in removing all manner of confusion and blame in the selection process. It is similar to the lottery’s Quickpick to the extent that a lazy person who can’t be bothered to perform a simple task will delegate that job to a machine. Over the years the method has served me very well (not that I’ve used it many times). There was a time however, for a slight complication when in the middle of an intense episode the station signed off at midnight, and they played the Philippine national anthem. I had to follow my rule so I was forced to pick Lupang Hinirang as our theme song. Thus every time the anthem is played, even now years later, I break into a big smile and remember that sweet moment with that special person.
