Are there grocery stores nearby?
Kihei is now home to a new,large Safeway grocery store in the new Piilani Shopping Village along the Piilani Highway in Kihei. In addition, Kihei has a couple of medium size grocery stores (Foodland and Star Market) along South Kihei Road. Make sure to ask if the stores have a frequent shopper card to receive additional discounts. Expect grocery prices to be hat higher than the mainland, especially for some staples such as bread and milk and other items that must be imported from the mainland. In addition to the grocery stores, there is a small general store located at the Mana Kai hotel about 2 blocks south of Maui Kamaole.
