Are there going to be any Caring for our Country small grants open to individuals and smaller community groups?
Community organisations will continue to have opportunities to undertake a broad range of activities to address multiple priorities. There will no longer be a separate process for small grants. Community organisations will be able to seek funding through the processes outlined in the business plan to undertake activities that contribute directly to the achievement of the Caring for our Country targets. The Australian Government is also encouraging regional natural resource management organisations to include community support and engagement in regional investment proposals where they are consistent with Caring for our Country targets. Additionally medium scale projects would be expected to consider community involvement, such as landcare, coastcare, or to involve local Indigenous people.
