Are there funds available to purchase supplementary materials for English Learners to support the core curriculum?
In the 2006-07 state budget a total of $30 million was set aside for districts to purchase supplemental instructional materials for English Learners [http://www.cde.ca.gov/ci/cr/cf/englearnrs.asp]. These supplemental materials were to be used in addition to the adopted standards-aligned materials. All funds were to have been fully obligated by June 30, 2009.
