Are there drug interactions among Estrogen replacement pills, synthroid, and effexor?

Answer Dear Ermine There is only one reported potential interaction with these drugs and it is probably not worth bothering about. Oestrogens can lessen the action of Ativan but this is usually of no concern when you take it irregularly. It is better if you can avoid the Ativan altogether and see if the Effexor can take on the antianxiety effect. Ativan often makes one drowsy, forgetful and can be addictive. Regards Dr Alan Galbraith These are the Australian guidelines that I am using and in the US they tend to be more cautious as interactions can always surface anew but in most patients what I have said will be true.
