Are there documented cases of people demonstrating empathic ability, such as literally feeling the pain of others?

I am at times empathic. Luckily it doesn’t happen often. That doesn’t mean I don’t want to be empathetic which means to understand someone elses feelings. I just don’t want to FEEL what someone else is feeling. I can’t help people if I am as upset as they are.

There are indeed cases of people feeling the pain of others although I could not give you names that you will find either online nor in books. From my own experience, my younger daughter experienced excruciating abdominal pain at the moment my older daughter, her sister, went into labor with her first child. The abdominal pain did not stop until the child was born a few hours later. When the pain began, my younger daughter had no idea that her sister was about to give birth.

Yes, there are people known as empaths. I am one. I am still young in my abilities because the awareness of it and what it entails is an evolving process. When you’re an empath, you’re basically led by your sense of feel. If you were to ask me to describe someone to you, I couldn’t use solid descriptions as well as I could just tell you what the person’s energy felt like…The downside is that I tap into the emotions of the people around me and I haven’t figured out how to block it all out, so sometimes anger or pain coming rushing in out of nowhere. I hate being in crowds for this reason. The upside is that no one can really lie to me…it’s not all bad! For a long time I thought something was wrong with me, but with time I just accepted that I lived my life in a different way. I hope this answers your question.
