Are there different types or schools of magic? Are there any particularly interesting or unusual spells?
Marco Behrmann: Magic in Mundana and EON is a science, like math or physics. Everyone can learn magic, if they take the time necessary. In the pen-and-paper RPG EON there are about 20 aspects of magic, or powers. In EON, we will probably reduce this number somewhat. Each aspect is linked to a different power. Some examples are the pyrotropic aspect for magic based on fire, the hydrotropic aspect for magic based on water, the psychotropic aspect for magic based on the spirit, and the necrotropic aspect for magic based on the dead. There are several skills for using magic. The mage archetype begins with skill levels in these, something the other archetypes do not – but they can learn these skills later in the game. The skills are: • Conjuring (used to weave the magic power together into a spell). • Generate (several sub skills which is used to draw the power from the world). • Magic lore (used as a theoretical magic skill, the ability to sense magic, to understand the science behind the
