Are there different kinds of Microchips?

0

At present there are three different brands of chips being sold and used in NSW, each of which uses slightly different technology, and each claiming to be the best. In earlier times there was some incompatibility between different brands of microchips and scanners but current Australian Veterinary Association (AVA) policy requires that all new microchips and new scanners should be able to read/be read by the existing network. You should ask your veterinarian for advice if you are concerned about the type of microchip being implanted.
