Are there different grades of vinyl siding?
Yes. There are two types of vinyl siding. The good stuff and the cheap stuff! Let me explain. The good stuff (premium vinyl) is made from virgin vinyl resins and the color is added before being made into siding panels. This is called (color through formula). Color will not fade. The cheap stuff (reprocessed material) is made from recycled plastic soda bottles, vinyl lawn furniture, pvc garden hoses and all the other stuff we throw out on trash day. It is then reprocessed and made into more soda bottles and garden hoses and yes, vinyl siding! The color is than applied to the surface only. This material will fade in time. Although using this material on your house will lower the cost of the siding job a few hundred dollars, I will not sell or install this material.
