Are there different degrees of punishment in hell?
According to Dante’s Inferno, several sources and even indications in the Bible, yes. Of course, no place in hell is described as pleasant, but it appears that there will be some people punished more severely than others. Bryan Melvin, author of “Hell’s Dominion: A Land Unknown,” describes hell as a place where each person is punished based on their deeds in this life. He describes Adolf Hitler as sitting in a cube, being burned with white-hot flames, as if all the flames of the ovens from the concentration camps were being meted back to him as punishement.
