Are there different considerations when working for a road racing team versus a motocross team?

Yeah, for sure. It’s more working with paint now, like the Rizla thing, which is really a pleasure because it can all be sprayed, and on a motocross bike you’re working with decals, and they have to be printed. It was almost like doing a custom helmet: they sent a chassis over to us—we got the actual chassis in our shop—and we got to tape it all off and paint it. Then we had to send it all back to Japan so that they could copy it. There’s nothing better than working on something at that level. The bikes are just incredible, man; it just gives me chills to look at the welds on the exhaust pipes, because they do an amazing job over there. I’m excited that I’m going to go to five or six rounds at least this year, and it’s going to be a true honor just to show up and see it. Hopefully it all flows together perfectly.
