Are there different classifications for employees?
Yes, there are several different pay scales to help you promote your business. Of course we are familiar with the Journeyman. This is a fully trained sheet metal worker. There are apprentices that start of at around 50% of the journeyman’s scale. This varies around the state but is within 5% or 10% of 50%. A pre-apprentice is a prescreened worker that gives the employer a set time to evaluate that employee to see whether that individual is right for your company. These employees are going to be future apprentices and we want you to be sure of someone before making an investment in their future. Upon joining forces, you the employer will be able to classify your workforce to fulfill your needs.
