Are there differences between SHORE from sd&m and SHORE as an open source software?

SHORE as it is used within sd&m and by some of sd&ms customers uses ObjectStore as its database for the repository. This is removed from SHORE as an open source software, so that the current version of SHORE has no persistent storage for the repository. The members of openSHORE.org are currently working on a replacement for the commercial object database.
