TDE tablespace encryption encrypts all content stored in that tablespace and does not conflict with any other database feature. TDE column encryption encrypts and decrypts data transparently when data passes through the SQL layer. Some features of Oracle bypass the SQL layer, and hence cannot benefit from TDE column encryption: • Materialized View Logs (supported from Oracle 11g Release 2) • Sync.
