The Stormwater Management rules do not require a buffer for waters other than Category One, but other rules may. For example, the Flood Hazard Area Control Act Rules, the Rules on Coastal Zone Management and the Pinelands Comprehensive Management Plan, to name a few, all require buffers on Category One waters and other waters. In addition, some municipalities may require buffers along or near certain waterbodies.
