Are there Biblical references about Christians should be Republicans and NOT Democrats?
The Bible is a fairly complicated document and can be used to support all sorts of arguments. For example, Jesus said, even the devil can quote scripture. That is, just because there is a biblical reference doesn’t make it right. Leviticus bans homosexuality, but also allows for the keeping of slaves. Personally, I would vote for any government that brings back the isolation tent for PMS women, but neither side is campaigning on that issue. Republicans obtain more of the christian votes by. 1. Having links to church groups and religious organistions (this is not a bad thing) which allows more grass roots campaigning, especially through churches. 2. Republican policies tend to be in line with certain strong moral sentiments in many churches (abortion, homosexuality and so on). Personally I believe that both sides of politics demonstrate values that can be supported by scripture.
