Are there better solutions than prison for minor offenders?
Yes – there has to be a better solution. This article appears to be a diamond in the rough. Very nice! Jail/Prison is expensive (for all parties involved) and the fact that our lawmakers continue to prioritize spending on building bigger prisons rather than education or anything else is simply appalling. It seems that locking up our people (many of which are being locked up for non-violent offenses) is reinforcing & rewarding the wrong behavior. There has to be a better way.
