SVA has an art program that’s pretty cheap compared to other art schools’ precollege summer programs. It doesn’t require a portfolio for acceptance; honestly I don’t know of any precollege art programs that do, except in the case of scholarships (which, if you’ve got an organized portfolio, you should definitely apply for to lower the cost of the program). A couple other programs that aren’t enormously cheap but offer scholarships are Pratt and RISD.
