Are there any US Presidents from Kentucky?
Jefferson Davis, president of the Confederate States, was born at what was then Christian County, Kentucky (it would become part of Todd County) in 1808. For most of the early part of his life he went back and forth between Kentucky and Mississippi. Against the wishes of Zachary Taylor, Jefferson Davis married his daughter, Sarah Knox Taylor, near Louisville in 1835. She died of malaria a few months laters, and afterwards Davis spent the majority of his life in Mississippi.
