Are there any upcoming electronics/TV disposal events in Wilmington/New Hanover County?
No household electronic disposal events are scheduled in the near future, said Lynn Bestul, New Hanover County recycling coordinator. Bestul said the county has considered having an electronics recycling event before the end of the year, but a decision has not been reached. Once R3 Environmental takes over the county’s recycling programs in January, it will have at least one household hazardous waste event, which will include hazardous substances in addition to electronics, each year. Bestul added that household appliances, such as refrigerators and stoves, can be taken to the county landfill at any time for no charge.
