Yes. Federal regulations restrict the total amount of endorsed checks that are transferred out of the U.S. If you plan to carry or mail one or more endorsed student loan checks to a foreign country and the individual check or checks total more than $10,000, you must notify U.S. Customs and Border Protection in advance.
