Are there any steps taken to curb the import and manufacturing and availability of spurious or unregistered drugs?
See the standards, which are followed worldwide, are not followed in Pakistan. We primarily want the government support in context to ‘license issuance’ which is the biggest evil these days. There are many sub standard companies having license to produce and supply medicines. These companies are least bothered about CGMP (Current Goods Manufacturing Practices) which is an international quality control standard that basically establishes what level should be maintained.
