Are there any statistics on the number of Amber Alerts issued each year?
According to CodeAmber.org, which is the largest clearinghouse in the U.S. for Amber Alerts, they only processed 409 Amber Alerts from August 2002 to December 2006. However, during that time there were almost four-million children reported lost, missing or separated from their parents that didn’t meet the criteria for an Amber Alert.
