Are There Any States Where Marijuana Is Legal?
Marijuana used to be legal in Alaska. An adult could legally possess up to 4 ounces. However when the Regan Administration took office they threatened to stop federal funding for Alaska’s highways so they finally outlawed it. Several states have completely decriminalized pot which is the next best thing. In California for example of you’re caught with less that an ounce all you get is a citation which results in a 100 dollar fine. Convictions do not go onto your criminal record. Also several states have medical marijuana laws. They vary from state to state but if you have a cannabis card in California you can legally keep up to 8 ounces for personal use.
