Are there any states that will allow underage marriage without parental consent?

I found conflicting information and am not sure which is correct. The first site said that all states but Nebraska and Mississippi require the parties to be 18, while for Nebraska the minimum was 19 and for Mississippi it was 21. The second site says that in Mississippi the minimum age is 17 for a male and 15 for a female. It’s possible that the law in Mississippi has changed recently??? Please consider that these laws reflect common sense, though, and that there are likely to be good reasons if your parents do not approve of you marrying now. You are more likely to have a good relationship with them if you wait until you are legal. As a parent myself, I would certainly think that a 21 or 22 year old guy dating my daughter does not have her best interests at heart if he thinks it’s a good idea to marry her before she’s even out of high school or of legal age. Please consider this seriously and think through who is most likely to have YOUR best interests at heart, versus only their OWN

What is your question?
