Standard laptop dimensions are as follows: Consumer notebooks (or laptops) come in three standard sizes. Additionally, there are two other sizes that we’ll consider to be specialty. Lets look at normal sizes first. Today, nearly all laptops are being designed in widescreen, 16:9 ratio formats, like most televisions now. This is opposed to the old, square 4:3 ratio. The three main sizes are 13.3, 14.1 and 15.4. This is a measurement, in inches, of the screen size diagonally; from corner to corner. This is the same way televisions are measured. This is also the measurement you would use to consider computer bags, or restrictions given to you on laptop sizes. 15.4 inch laptops are the most common, since they’re large enough for most tasks, small enough to be portable and they’re cheaper since laptops tend to get pricey as they decrease in size… with some exception.
