While there are no specific requirements for either particular undergraduate degrees/majors or courses, all students must have had undergraduate coursework in biology at the bare minimum, as the GID degree requirements include a significant amount of microbiology and immunology. Additional coursework in biochemistry, genetics, and/or microbiology is also highly recommended.
