Are there any specific modem setup options for utilizing the EMP?
Yes. First, an external modem should be used so it can remain powered if the server is shut down and retain the capability to remotely access and manage the EMP. Both the modem attached to the E8000 server and the modem attached to the PC running the EMP Console software utility must be configured to 19.2 kbps. Because there is no operating system negotiating between the Intel E8000 Server Board’s BIOS and modem attached to the COM2 port used for the EMP, a fixed modem speed must be configured in Server BIOS Setup. The code for the BMC (Baseboard Management Controller) and the I2C Server Management Bus is optimized for 19.2 kbps.
