Are there any special upgrades PSAPs need in order to receive E9-1-1 calls from VoIP subscribers?

If the PSAP has access to dynamic ALI data update for E9-1-1 calls, there should not be any additional upgrades required. Dynamic ALI update is a process first established to support cellular wireless E9-1-1 service, and provides a link between the normal ALI data base servers and the special VPC server that stores VoIP caller preregistered addresses and VoIP routing instruction logic and data. If a PSAP does not have wireless E9-1-1 implemented, it is still possible to support VoIP for E9-1-1, if arrangements are made to activate the dynamic ALI interface for VoIP service purposes.
